Please note: I was not responsible for the graphic design of this website, only the functionality.

Technical Notes:

JavaScript menu code is dynamically generated at the start of a user session from categories in the database and shared between all sessions in a global variable to reduce server load and improve response times. Optimisations on MySql queries drastically improved category browsing and search times.
Session transfer was implemented using the database to go between the two application scopes (http and https) until a new server was set up that allowed the session to span the two.
