Stamford Barber Shop : www.stamfordbarbershop.co.uk
The design here is that of a modern, highly usable website with traditional barber-shop stylings. The website features a powerful booking system that allows the barbershop manager to define services that have different parts of their duration assigned to different members of staff (for when a particular service involves using different members of staff for specialist treatments). It allows customers to book these services online whilst maximising the usage of the different members of staffs' time by allowing bookings to overlap if their schedules permit. Customers are automatically notified of their booking 24 hours before by email and 1 hour before by text message. Bookings can also be paid for in advance through the website.
The website also has a newsletter system and a configurable notice area for the home page that can be turned on or off at will by the manager. User accounts feature an email-validation system, and the ability to remember a booking across the registration process.
Due to the specific requirements of this website, it was entirely custom designed and programmed in-house.

Restyle Office Interiors : www.restyleoffice.com
Featuring a somewhat novel and contemporary design, this website aims to present the both what Restyle Office Interiors do as a business and also to evoke ideas of change and quality in the customer. The arrow graphics aim to represent change or renewal - things being replaced, while the stack of squares aims to signify construction. The overall colour scheme and style was designed to fit with their existing logo whilst giving an overall feeling of freshness and modernism.

Planet Destinations : www.planetdestinations.com
A "less-is-more" type of design, the brief given by Louisa and Sheena of Planet Destinations was for it to use a certain colour scheme, have a bubble-type of navigation and to be very simple and clear. The silhouette of the elephants used in the header was taken from the image on the home page and seemed to sum up nicely the spirit of the company (a UK-based marketing agency for overseas hotels and safari holidays). An unusual feature of this site is that the header and footer graphics are different colours for different pages, emphasising the concept of the site being the sum of its parts.

Using open-source software to minimise development costs to the client, the Indigo Boo website delivers powerful ecommerce functionality at a fraction of the cost it would be to develop in-house. Work has gone in to customising the standard functionality however so that it works the right way for the client.
